As some of you guys might already know version 3.0 of aPoll component will be available as soon as Joomla 1.6 is out /possibly later than earlier/. I know some of you have ideas about the functionality of the component, so here is the place to share it. All suggestions will be taken into consideration and at least debated. Lets make aPoll the ultimate voting tool for Joomla.

Here is the list with the enhancements that will definately be included:

• Added categories support;
• Optional functionality on after voting;
• Hide/Show the results after voting;
• Live update of the results
• Added more results views - google pie, simple flash pie and php-created pies
• Choose more than one option
• Integration with comment system

I am waiting for suggestions.

I'm guessing with the release of joomla 1.6 imminient I joined the discussion far too late.
But if I could have one extra functionality to this great product it would be front end poll's. If users could create new polls via the front end sytem then the scope for the product would be great. There is only one component doing this at the moment, so there is not much competition.....anyway prob too late! but thanks for reading!

Voting delegation

Allow a first user delegating to another user. The other user will have the power of multiple votes unless the first user chooses to vote himself/herself.

Delegating could be considered be done for all future votings, in certain categories of votings, for a limited time etc.

-automatic select poll to show from category and

-automatic run to the next poll from category when poll expire (i think this feature help admin a lot)

-select show/no show poll end date in module (tell user before poll expire)

-user can submit poll and wait for approve

-Multiple Poll Types: Single selection radio buttons, multi selection checkboxes, multi selection radio grid polls

Add a feature to limit the TOTAL number of votes a user can make and display the number of remaining votes a user has available. This type of voting greatly increases the accuracy of voting because the voter wont waste their votes by giving everything a 10, they instead only vote on the items that they really care about. For instance, if you listed the top 100 feature requests you have for your software and you give each user 10 votes, they can't just vote for everything, they can only vote for up to 10 items, or they could place all their votes on one or two items.
